Ingredients:
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

½ pound ground beef

½ pound Italian sausage (optional)

1 cup sliced pepperoni

1 cup pizza sauce (or marinara sauce)

1 prepared deep-dish pie crust (store-bought or homemade)

1 small onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

Olive oil for cooking

Instructions:
Preheat oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the meat:
In a skillet, heat a little olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and garlic; sauté until translucent. Add ground beef and Italian sausage (if using), breaking the meat up as it cooks. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook until browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat.

Prepare the crust:
Place the deep-dish pie crust into a pie dish, pressing it firmly to the edges.

Layer the pie:
Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce on the bottom of the crust. Add half the mozzarella cheese. Next, layer the cooked meat mixture evenly over the cheese. Add the pepperoni slices on top, then cover with the remaining mozzarella cheese. Spoon the remaining pizza sauce over the cheese layer or drizzle lightly.

Bake:
Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and browned.

Cool and serve:
Let the pie cool for about 10 minutes before slicing. Serve hot!

Tips:
Add some sliced mushrooms or bell peppers for extra veggies.

Use spicy Italian sausage or add red pepper flakes if you like heat.

Serve with a simple side salad for a complete meal.
