Crockpot Chicken and Gravy

Crockpot Chicken and Gravy

Ingredients:
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
2 packets chicken gravy mix (about 1 oz each)
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
1 ½ cups water or chicken broth
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon butter (optional, for extra richness)
Chopped parsley (for garnish, optional)

Directions:
Prepare the Crockpot:
Spray your crockpot with non-stick spray or lightly coat with oil to prevent sticking.
Place the Chicken:
Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot. Season them with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder on both sides.
Mix the Gravy:
In a medium bowl, whisk together the chicken gravy mix, cream of chicken soup, and water (or chicken broth) until well combined and smooth.
Pour Over Chicken:
Pour the gravy mixture over the chicken breasts in the crockpot. Ensure the chicken is fully covered by the sauce.
Cook:
Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4 hours, until the chicken is tender and fully cooked.
Shred or Serve Whole:
Once the chicken is cooked through, you can either leave the chicken breasts whole or shred them into the gravy using two forks for a pulled-chicken texture.
Add Butter (Optional):
For a richer sauce, stir in a tablespoon of butter at the end, allowing it to melt into the gravy.
Serve:
Spoon the chicken and gravy over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles for a comforting meal. Garnish with chopped parsley for added freshness.
