π§π₯ Crispy Mozzarella Bites β Cheese Pulls Just Got Better π
Golden and crunchy outside, gooey and stretchy inside! One bite and you’ll see why these disappear fast. π§π
π Ingredients (Makes 36β48 bites):
12 mozzarella string cheese sticks, cut into 1-inch pieces
Β½ cup all-purpose flour
2 eggs, beaten
2 tablespoons milk
1 Β½ cups seasoned Italian breadcrumbs
Β½ teaspoon garlic powder
Β½ teaspoon onion powder
Β½ teaspoon dried oregano
ΒΌ teaspoon salt
Vegetable oil for frying
Optional: Marinara sauce for dipping
π©βπ³ Directions:
1οΈβ£ Prep the Cheese:
Cut each mozzarella stick into thirds or quarters (about 1-inch pieces).
Freeze the pieces for 30 minutes β this helps prevent them from melting too fast when fried.
2οΈβ£ Set Up Your Breading Station:
In one bowl: place flour.
In a second bowl: whisk eggs with milk.
In a third bowl: combine breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, and salt.
3οΈβ£ Bread the Cheese:
Coat each cheese piece in flour, then dip into the egg mixture, then roll in breadcrumbs.
Repeat the egg and breadcrumb step again for double coating β it keeps the cheese inside when frying.
4οΈβ£ Fry Time:
Heat about 2 inches of oil in a deep skillet or saucepan to 350Β°F (175Β°C).
Fry a few bites at a time for 1β2 minutes, or until golden brown.
Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
5οΈβ£ Serve & Dip:
Serve hot with warm marinara sauce, ranch, or garlic aioli for dipping!
π‘ Tips:
Make ahead: Bread the bites and freeze β fry from frozen whenever you want!
Crispier coating? Use panko instead of regular breadcrumbs.
Add a kick: Mix cayenne pepper or chili flakes into the breadcrumbs for spice.
π§ Storage:
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Reheat in an air fryer or oven to maintain crispiness.
