Ingredients

  • 1 lb white fish fillets (cod, haddock, or pollock)

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour

  • 2 large eggs, beaten

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs or panko

  • ½ teaspoon paprika (optional)

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

  • Oil, for frying

Directions

1️⃣ Prepare the Fish

Pat fish fillets dry with paper towels and cut into even stick-shaped pieces. Season lightly with salt and black pepper.

2️⃣ Set Up the Breading Station

Place flour in one shallow bowl. In a second bowl, beat the eggs. In a third bowl, combine breadcrumbs, paprika, and garlic powder.

3️⃣ Bread the Fish

Dip each fish stick into the flour, shaking off excess. Then dip into the beaten eggs, followed by the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to coat.

4️⃣ Fry Until Golden

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry fish sticks in batches for 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer to a paper towel–lined plate.

5️⃣ Serve

Serve hot with lemon wedges and your favorite dipping sauce.
