Ingredients

  • 1 cup dill pickle slices (or whole pickles cut into bite-sized pieces)

  • 6–8 small peppers (jalapeño, mini bell, or banana peppers), halved and seeded

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 1 cup buttermilk

  • 1–2 cups panko breadcrumbs or crushed cornflakes for extra crunch

  • Oil, for frying

  • Optional dipping sauces: ranch, spicy aioli, or sriracha mayo

Directions

1️⃣ Prep Pickles & Peppers

Pat pickles and peppers dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. This helps the coating stick and ensures crispiness.

2️⃣ Make the Coatings

In one bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, pour buttermilk. Place panko breadcrumbs or crushed cornflakes in a third bowl.

3️⃣ Coat & Bread

Dip each pickle or pepper first in flour mixture, then into the buttermilk, and finally coat with breadcrumbs or cornflakes. Press gently to ensure coating sticks.

4️⃣ Fry

Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Fry coated pickles and peppers in batches for 2–3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

5️⃣ Serve

Serve immediately while hot and crispy. Pair with ranch, aioli, or your favorite dipping sauce.
