Crescent Cheese Danishes
Ingredients:
1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
4 oz cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional, for a hint of tang)
1/4 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
1 tablespoon milk (for glaze)
Directions:
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Prepare the Crescent Rolls:
Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into four rectangles, pressing together the seams to seal. Fold each rectangle in half width-wise to create a square shape.
Prepare the Cream Cheese Filling:
In a small mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon juice (if using). Stir until smooth and creamy.
Assemble the Danishes:
Using a spoon, place a dollop of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each crescent square. Gently spread the filling, leaving a small border around the edges.
Bake the Danishes:
Place the assembled danishes on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescent dough is golden brown and fully cooked.
Prepare the Glaze:
In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Adjust with more milk or powdered sugar to reach your desired consistency.
Drizzle the Glaze:
Once the danishes have cooled slightly, drizzle the glaze over the top.
