Crack Sausage Balls
Ingredients:
1 lb ground breakfast sausage (such as Jimmy Dean)
1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat)
Directions:
Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or spray it with cooking spray.
Mix Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground sausage, shredded cheddar cheese, flour, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and softened cream cheese. If using red pepper flakes, add them now.
Form the Balls:
Mix everything together with your hands or a spoon until it forms a dough-like consistency. Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them onto the prepared baking sheet.
Bake:
Bake the sausage balls for 20-25 minutes or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
Serve:
Let the sausage balls cool for a few minutes before serving. They’re great as a snack, appetizer, or breakfast treat!
