🛒 Ingredients
For the Bread Bombs:
-
1 loaf of crusty Italian bread or French bread
-
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
-
4 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (optional)
For the Shrimp & Crab Filling:
-
1 lb fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
-
1 cup cream cheese, softened
-
½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
-
½ cup lump crab meat (drained if canned)
-
¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
-
1 teaspoon lemon juice
-
½ teaspoon salt
-
¼ teaspoon black pepper
-
¼ teaspoon paprika (optional, for color)
For Topping:
-
¼ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
-
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
-
Extra parsley for garnish
🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare the Shrimp & Crab Filling
-
Finely chop the shrimp into small pieces.
-
In a skillet over medium heat, sauté shrimp with a tiny bit of butter or oil for 2–3 minutes until just pink. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
-
In a mixing bowl, combine cooked shrimp, cream cheese, mozzarella, crab meat, parsley, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and paprika. Stir until smooth and evenly mixed.
2️⃣ Prep the Bread
-
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
-
Slice the loaf of bread lengthwise down the center, creating a “boat” shape. Hollow out some of the bread from the center to make room for the filling, leaving a sturdy crust.
-
Mix softened butter, minced garlic, and Italian herbs (if using). Spread this mixture evenly inside the hollowed bread.
3️⃣ Stuff the Bread
-
Spoon the shrimp and crab mixture into the hollowed center of the bread, pressing lightly to fill evenly.
-
Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the top for that perfect golden, melty crust.
4️⃣ Bake to Perfection
-
Place the stuffed bread on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
-
Cover loosely with aluminum foil and bake for 15–20 minutes to warm the filling.
-
Remove foil and bake an additional 5–10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and the top is golden brown.
