📋 Ingredients
Crab meat (imitation crab sticks or shredded real crab — about 1–2 cups)
Oil or melted butter, for coating (about 1–2 tablespoons)
Seasonings of choice:
Salt
Black pepper
Garlic powder
Onion powder
Smoked paprika or Old Bay (optional, for a seafood twist)
Optional Dipping Sauce:
2 tablespoons butter
1 clove garlic, minced
Lemon juice or fresh parsley (optional, for brightness)
🔧 Instructions
Step 1: Prep the Crab
Shred or slice the crab sticks or real crab meat into thin strips or bite-sized chunks. If using imitation crab, pulling it apart by hand gives the best texture.
Step 2: Season & Coat
Place crab meat in a bowl.
Toss with oil or melted butter until lightly coated.
Add your seasonings and toss again to evenly coat every piece.
Step 3: Bake or Air Fry
Oven Method:
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Spread seasoned crab pieces in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment.
Bake for 20–25 minutes, flipping once halfway, until crispy and golden.
Air Fryer Method:
Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
Spread crab in a single layer in the basket.
Air fry for 10–14 minutes, shaking halfway through, until crispy.
Step 4: Make the Garlic Butter Dipping Sauce (Optional)
In a small saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter.
Add minced garlic and cook over low heat for 1–2 minutes, just until fragrant (don’t brown).
Add a squeeze of lemon juice or a pinch of chopped parsley for extra flavor.
Step 5: Serve
Serve Crab Crunchies warm, with dipping sauce on the side. They’re also great on top of salads, rice bowls, or even tucked into wraps!
🔄 Variations & Tips:
Want heat? Add a pinch of cayenne or crushed red pepper flakes.
For a tropical twist, dip in sweet chili sauce or pineapple teriyaki glaze.
Make them extra-crunchy: Dust lightly with panko crumbs before baking.
📦 Storage:
Best eaten fresh, but can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days. Re-crisp in a 350°F oven or air fryer for a few minutes before serving.
