Cozy Meatball Noodle Bake

Ingredients:
For the Meatballs:
1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup chopped parsley
1 egg
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
For the Noodle Bake:
8 ounces egg noodles
2 cups marinara sauce
1 cup ricotta cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup chopped fresh basil (optional)
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for a little heat)

Directions:
Prepare the Meatballs:
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and browned. Remove from the oven and set aside.
Prepare the Noodle Bake:
Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and return to the pot.
Stir in the marinara sauce, ricotta cheese, and half of the mozzarella cheese into the noodles until well combined.
Add the cooked meatballs to the noodle mixture and gently stir to combine.
Transfer the mixture to a baking dish (about 9×13 inches).
Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese over the top.
If using, sprinkle chopped basil, dried oregano, and red pepper flakes on top for extra flavor.
Bake and Serve:
Bake the casserole in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before serving.
