Cinnamon Swirl Apple Fritter Bread

Cinnamon Swirl Apple Fritter Bread

Ingredients:

For the Bread Batter:

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
2/3 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 3/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup milk
For the Apple Mixture:

2 large apples, peeled, cored, and diced
2 tbsp granulated sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
For the Cinnamon Swirl:

1/3 cup brown sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
For the Glaze (Optional):

1/2 cup powdered sugar
1-2 tbsp milk
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Directions:

Preheat Oven:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
Prepare the Apple Mixture:

In a small bowl, combine the diced apples, sugar, and cinnamon. Set aside.
Make the Bread Batter:

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, starting and ending with the dry ingredients.
Layer the Bread:

Pour half of the bread batter into the prepared loaf pan.
Add half of the apple mixture on top, followed by half of the cinnamon swirl mixture (brown sugar and cinnamon mixed together). Swirl lightly with a knife.
Repeat the layers with the remaining batter, apples, and cinnamon swirl. Swirl the top again lightly.
Bake:

Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Add the Glaze (Optional):

In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle over the cooled bread.
