If you’re a fan of rich chocolate and creamy peanut butter, these Chocolate Peanut Butter Dream Bars are your new dessert obsession. Crunchy cookie crust, a smooth peanut butter layer, and a decadent chocolate topping combine to create bars that are perfect for parties, potlucks, or anytime you need a sweet indulgence.

Ingredients

For the Crust:

  • 1 package (16 oz) chocolate sandwich cookies, crushed

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted

For the Peanut Butter Layer:

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened

For the Chocolate Topping:

  • 1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • ¼ cup creamy peanut butter

Directions

1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it. This will make removing the bars easier after they’re set.

2. Make the Cookie Crust

Place the crushed chocolate sandwich cookies in a large bowl. Pour in ½ cup melted butter and stir until crumbs are evenly coated. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan to form a solid crust. Bake for 8–10 minutes, then let cool completely.

3. Prepare the Peanut Butter Layer

In a mixing bowl, combine creamy peanut butter, softened butter, and powdered sugar. Beat until smooth and creamy. Spread this mixture evenly over the cooled cookie crust.

4. Melt the Chocolate Topping

In a microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips and ¼ cup peanut butter. Microwave in 20–30 second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth.

5. Add the Chocolate Layer

Pour the melted chocolate over the peanut butter layer. Use a spatula to spread evenly, making sure to cover all edges for a neat finish.

6. Chill to Set

Place the pan in the refrigerator for at least 2–3 hours, or until the chocolate is firm and the layers are set. For faster results, freeze for 45–60 minutes.

7. Slice and Serve

Remove the bars from the pan using the parchment paper edges. Slice into squares or rectangles with a sharp knife. Serve chilled for the best texture and flavor.
