Chocolate Croissant Breakfast Bake

Chocolate Croissant Breakfast Bake

Ingredients:
4-6 buttery croissants (preferably day-old)
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
3 large eggs
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Directions:
Prepare the Croissants: Tear the croissants into large pieces and place them in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, arranging them in an even layer.
Add Chocolate: Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the croissant pieces.
Make the Custard: In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon (if using). Pour this custard mixture evenly over the croissants, pressing down gently to ensure all the croissant pieces soak up the liquid.
Chill and Rest: Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight, to allow the croissants to soak up the custard.
Bake: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the croissant casserole for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the custard is set.
Serve: Let the bake cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar and serving. Enjoy warm!
