Chocolate Cobbler

Chocolate Cobbler

Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup whole milk
1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
For the Topping:
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
4 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 cups boiling water

Directions:
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
Mix the Batter:
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and cocoa powder.
Stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until the batter is smooth.
Spread the Batter:
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly with a spatula.
Prepare the Topping:
In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and cocoa powder for the topping.
Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the batter in the dish.
Add Boiling Water:
Gently pour the boiling water over the top of the entire dish without stirring. The water will create a self-saucing layer as it bakes.
Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is crispy.
Serve:
Allow the cobbler to cool for about 10 minutes. The bottom will have a rich, gooey chocolate sauce.
Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
