Chocolate Cake
Ingredients:
200 g (1 cup) of sugar
200 g (1 2/3 cups) of all-purpose flour
75 g (2/3 cup) of cocoa powder
1 1/2 tsp of baking powder
1 1/2 tsp of baking soda
1 tsp of salt
2 large eggs
240 ml (1 cup) of milk
120 ml (1/2 cup) of vegetable oil
2 tsp of vanilla extract
240 ml (1 cup) of boiling water
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour two 9-inch round baking pans.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.
3. Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for about 2 minutes until the batter is smooth and well combined.
4. Gradually stir in the boiling water until the batter is thin and smooth.
5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared baking pans.
6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean.
7. Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then, remove the cakes from the pans and place them on a wire rack to cool completely.
8. Once cooled, frost with your favorite chocolate frosting or enjoy as is.
