Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole
Ingredients:
3 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced
8 oz cooked ham, diced
2 cups shredded Swiss cheese (or a mix of Swiss and mozzarella)
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
1 cup sour cream
½ cup milk
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 cup breadcrumbs (Panko or regular)
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
Step 2: Layer the Chicken and Ham
Spread the cooked chicken evenly across the bottom of the baking dish.
Layer the diced ham on top of the chicken.
Step 3: Prepare the Sauce
In a medium bowl, whisk together the cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
Pour the sauce evenly over the chicken and ham in the baking dish.
Step 4: Add Cheese
Sprinkle the shredded Swiss cheese evenly over the sauce.
Step 5: Prepare the Topping
In a small bowl, combine the breadcrumbs with the melted butter.
Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the top of the casserole.
Step 6: Bake the Casserole
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the topping is golden brown.
Step 7: Serve
Remove from the oven and let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving.
Optionally, garnish with chopped parsley for a fresh finish.
