CHEESY MOZZARELLA STUFFED ONION RINGS

Instructions

  1. Prep the onion rings:
Separate the onion slices into rings. Pair a larger ring with a smaller one to create a “gap” for the cheese.

  2. Stuff with cheese:
Place a piece of mozzarella stick between the two onion rings to form a stuffed ring. Press gently to secure. Repeat with all rings.

  3. Set up breading station:

    • Bowl 1: Flour

    • Bowl 2: Eggs + milk (whisked)

    • Bowl 3: Panko + salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder

  4. Coat the rings (double coat for extra crunch):
Dredge each ring in flour → dip in egg → coat in Panko → dip again in egg → coat again in Panko.
Place on a tray and freeze for 30–45 minutes (this helps prevent cheese leaks!).

  5. Fry:
Heat oil to 175°C / 350°F. Fry in batches for 2–3 minutes per side or until golden brown and crispy.

  6. Drain & serve:
Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve hot and melty with marinara, ranch, or garlic sauce 🤤

Pro Tips:

  • Don’t skip freezing—this keeps the cheese inside!

  • Air fryer: Cook at 190°C / 375°F for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway (spray with oil first).

  • You can also bake at 200°C / 400°F for ~12–15 minutes until golden.
