Cheesy Garlic Green Beans Recipe
Ingredients:
1 lb fresh green beans (trimmed)
2 tablespoons olive oil (or butter)
4 garlic cloves (minced)
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional, for extra flavor)
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (or cheddar cheese for a sharper flavor)
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish, optional)
Instructions:
Blanch the green beans:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the green beans and cook for 3-4 minutes, until they turn bright green and are tender-crisp. Drain the beans and transfer them to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Drain again and set aside.
Sauté the garlic:
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil (or butter) over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
Cook the green beans:
Add the blanched green beans to the skillet with the garlic. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder (if using). Sauté for about 2-3 minutes, tossing to coat the beans in the garlic oil.
Add the cheese:
Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan over the green beans. Lower the heat, cover the skillet, and let the cheese melt, about 2-3 minutes. Once the cheese is melted and gooey, remove from heat.
Garnish and serve:
Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve immediately.
These Cheesy Garlic Green Beans are a tasty, cheesy twist on a classic veggie side dish, perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions!
