Caramel Brownie Cheesecake

Ingredients:
Brownie Layer:
1 box brownie mix (or your favorite homemade brownie recipe)
Ingredients required for the brownie mix (usually eggs, oil, and water)
Cheesecake Layer:
16 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
3 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup caramel sauce
Topping:
1/2 cup caramel sauce
1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Whipped cream for serving (optional)

Directions:
Prepare the Brownie Layer:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
Prepare the brownie mix according to the package instructions. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared springform pan and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean. Let it cool completely in the pan.
Make the Cheesecake Layer:
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and sugar together until smooth and creamy.
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, add the vanilla extract and 1/2 cup of caramel sauce, beating until fully incorporated and smooth.
Assemble the Cheesecake:
Once the brownie layer has cooled, pour the cheesecake mixture over the brownie layer in the springform pan. Smooth the top with a spatula.
Wrap the bottom of the springform pan in aluminum foil to prevent water from leaking into the cheesecake while it bakes.
Bake the Cheesecake:
Place the springform pan in a larger baking dish or roasting pan and fill it with hot water about halfway up the sides of the springform pan (this is called a water bath).
Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until the center of the cheesecake is just set and slightly wobbly in the middle.
Turn off the oven, crack the door open slightly, and let the cheesecake cool in the oven for about 1 hour. Then, remove it from the oven and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Add the Toppings:
Once the cheesecake is fully chilled, remove it from the springform pan. Drizzle the remaining 1/2 cup of caramel sauce over the top of the cheesecake.
If desired, sprinkle chopped pecans on top for extra crunch and flavor.
Serve:
Slice the cheesecake and serve with whipped cream if desired. Enjoy the rich, decadent combination of caramel, brownie, and cheesecake in every bite!
