🦐 Cajun Shrimp Pasta – Full Recipe

Ingredients

  • 12 raw shrimp (or more — the more shrimp, the better!)

  • 1 serving pasta (linguine or fettuccine works best)

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)

  • Salt, to taste

  • Black pepper, to taste

  • ½ teaspoon paprika (optional)

  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Pasta

Bring a pot of well-salted water to a boil. Cook pasta until al dente according to package instructions. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.

Step 2: Season the Shrimp

Pat shrimp dry with paper towels. Season with Cajun seasoning, salt, black pepper, and paprika if using.

Step 3: Cook the Shrimp

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and lightly golden. Remove shrimp from the pan and set aside.

Step 4: Make the Sauce

In the same skillet, lower heat to medium. Add remaining butter and garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Pour in heavy cream and stir gently. Let it simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.

Step 5: Add the Cheese

Lower heat and add Parmesan cheese. Stir continuously until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy. Add red pepper flakes if you like a little heat.

Step 6: Combine Everything

Add cooked pasta to the sauce and toss until fully coated. Add reserved pasta water a little at a time if needed to loosen the sauce.

Return shrimp to the skillet and gently mix everything together. Let it simmer for 1–2 minutes so flavors combine.

Step 7: Serve

Garnish with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan. Serve immediately and enjoy every bite.
