Buttercream Rose Cake Recipe (8-inch round cake)
Ingredients in grams:
For the Cake:
– 300 g all-purpose flour
– 300 g granulated sugar
– 300 g unsalted butter, softened
– 6 large eggs (approx. 300 g without shells)
– 10 g baking powder
– 5 g baking soda
– 5 g salt
– 160 ml whole milk
– 10 ml vanilla extract
For the Buttercream Frosting and Decoration:
– 500 g unsalted butter, softened
– 900 g powdered sugar (icing sugar), sifted
– 60-80 ml heavy cream or milk
– 10 ml vanilla extract
– Yellow gel food coloring
– Green gel food coloring
Instructions:
1.Bake the Cake:
– Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and flour two 8-inch cake pans.
– Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
– Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
– Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Add vanilla extract.
– Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk, mixing just until combined.
– Divide batter between pans and bake 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
– Cool completely on wire racks.
2.Make Buttercream:
– Beat softened butter until creamy.
– Slowly add powdered sugar, beating until fluffy.
– Mix in vanilla extract and add cream to reach desired piping consistency.
– Divide frosting into 3 portions: tint one large portion yellow, one smaller portion green, and leave some plain for base frosting.
