Brown Sugar Italian Chicken
Ingredients:
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 packet Italian dressing seasoning mix
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp olive oil
1/4 cup chicken broth
2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions:
Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Season Chicken:
Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
Prepare Brown Sugar Mix:
In a small bowl, combine the Italian dressing seasoning mix, brown sugar, and garlic (if using). Mix well.
Sear Chicken:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken breasts for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove and place them in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
Make Sauce:
In the same skillet, add chicken broth to deglaze the pan, scraping up any browned bits. Stir in the brown sugar mixture until it forms a smooth sauce.
Bake:
Pour the sauce over the chicken in the baking dish. Cover with foil and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
Serve:
Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving. Spoon extra sauce over the top for added flavor. Pair with rice, roasted veggies, or a fresh salad.
