Blackberry Dumplings

Ingredients:
2 cups blackberries (fresh or frozen)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup water
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for dumplings)
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Directions:
Cook the Blackberries: In a large pot, combine blackberries, 1/2 cup sugar, water, and lemon juice. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes until the blackberries soften.
Prepare the Dumpling Dough: In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, 2 tablespoons sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add milk and melted butter, stirring until a soft dough forms.
Add Dumplings to Blackberries: Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto the simmering blackberry mixture. Cover the pot and simmer for 15 minutes without lifting the lid, allowing the dumplings to cook through.
Serve: Once the dumplings are puffed and cooked through, spoon them into bowls along with the blackberry sauce.
