Best Banana Pudding Ever
Ingredients:
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
1 1/2 cups cold water
1 (3.4 oz) package instant vanilla pudding mix
2 cups heavy whipping cream, cold
1 box vanilla wafers (about 12 oz)
4-5 ripe bananas, sliced
Instructions:
Prepare the pudding mixture:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk and cold water until combined.
Add the instant vanilla pudding mix and whisk for 2 minutes until the mixture begins to thicken slightly.
Cover and refrigerate the pudding mixture for at least 4 hours or overnight to let it set properly.
Whip the cream:
In another bowl, beat the cold heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form (about 3-5 minutes). Be careful not to overwhip.
Gently fold the whipped cream into the chilled pudding mixture until combined and smooth. This creates a light and airy texture.
Assemble the banana pudding:
In a 9×13-inch dish or large trifle bowl, layer the vanilla wafers on the bottom. Top with a layer of sliced bananas.
Spread a portion of the pudding mixture over the bananas and wafers, smoothing it out evenly.
Repeat the layers (vanilla wafers, banana slices, pudding) until all the ingredients are used, ending with a layer of pudding on top.
Chill and serve:
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (or overnight) to let the flavors meld together.
Before serving, you can garnish the top with additional vanilla wafers or crushed wafers for extra texture.
