Bang Bang Shrimp Pasta
Ingredients:
For the Bang Bang Shrimp:
1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cornstarch
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
Salt and black pepper to taste
Vegetable oil for frying
For the Bang Bang Sauce:
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
2 tbsp sriracha or hot sauce (adjust to taste)
1 tbsp honey
For the Pasta:
8 oz pasta (spaghetti, fettuccine, or your choice)
2 tbsp olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved (optional)
Fresh basil or parsley for garnish
Salt and black pepper to taste
Directions:
Prepare the Bang Bang Shrimp:
In a bowl, marinate the shrimp in buttermilk for at least 15 minutes.
In a separate bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper.
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Remove shrimp from the buttermilk, dredge in the flour mixture, and fry in the hot oil until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels.
Make the Bang Bang Sauce:
In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha or hot sauce, and honey until well combined.
Cook the Pasta:
Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, or until fragrant.
Stir in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing the cream to thicken slightly.
Add Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and the sauce is smooth. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Toss in the cooked pasta and cherry tomatoes (if using) until well coated with the sauce.
Combine and Serve:
Gently fold the crispy shrimp into the pasta, making sure the shrimp are well coated with the Bang Bang sauce.
Garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving.
Serve:
Serve the Bang Bang Shrimp Pasta immediately, with extra Bang Bang sauce on the side if desired.
