Banana Pudding Rice Krispie Treats
Ingredients:
5 cups Rice Krispies cereal
1 (10 oz) bag mini marshmallows
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1 (3.4 oz) package banana cream instant pudding mix
1/2 cup white chocolate chips
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup crushed vanilla wafers
1/2 cup banana chips, crushed (optional for garnish)
Directions:
Prepare the Cereal Mix:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the Rice Krispies cereal, crushed vanilla wafers, and pudding mix. Stir until evenly mixed.
Melt the Marshmallows:
In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the mini marshmallows and stir continuously until they are fully melted and smooth.
Once melted, stir in the vanilla extract and remove from heat.
Combine Cereal and Marshmallow Mixture:
Quickly pour the melted marshmallow mixture over the Rice Krispies and pudding mixture. Stir with a spatula until everything is evenly coated.
Add White Chocolate Chips:
Gently fold in the white chocolate chips while the mixture is still warm but not hot, so the chips slightly melt and mix in.
Transfer to Pan:
Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and press the mixture evenly into the pan. Press gently with a spatula or hands (greased or wet to prevent sticking).
Garnish (Optional):
Sprinkle the top with additional crushed vanilla wafers and crushed banana chips for added texture and banana flavor.
Cool and Cut:
Allow the treats to cool for about 30 minutes at room temperature before cutting into squares.
