Baked Milk (Leche Asada)
Ingredients:
4 cups (1 liter) whole milk
1 cup (200g) sugar
6 large eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Ground cinnamon (optional, for sprinkling)
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and sugar until well combined.
3. Slowly add the milk while continuing to whisk.
4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
5. Pour the mixture into a large baking dish or individual ramekins.
6. Place the baking dish or ramekins in a larger baking pan filled with about 1 inch of hot water (water bath).
7. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
8. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly.
9. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon, if desired.
10. Serve warm or chilled.
