Baileys Chocolate Cheesecake Trifle Recipe
Ingredients:
For the Chocolate Cake Layer:
1 box (15.25 oz) chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients needed as per package instructions)
1/2 cup Baileys Irish Cream
For the Cheesecake Layer:
2 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup Baileys Irish Cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup sour cream
For the Chocolate Ganache:
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup heavy cream
For Garnish:
Whipped cream
Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder
Directions:
Prepare the Chocolate Cake:
Preheat your oven according to the instructions on the cake mix package.
Prepare the cake batter as directed on the package, but substitute 1/2 cup of the liquid with Baileys Irish Cream.
Pour the batter into a greased cake pan and bake as directed on the package.
Allow the cake to cool completely. Once cooled, cut the cake into small cubes.
Prepare the Cheesecake Layer:
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
Gradually add the granulated sugar, beating until well combined.
In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture.
Add the Baileys Irish Cream, vanilla extract, and sour cream. Mix until combined.
Prepare the Chocolate Ganache:
In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the heavy cream until it just begins to simmer (about 30-45 seconds in the microwave).
Add the chocolate chips to the hot cream and let sit for 1 minute. Stir until smooth and fully combined.
Allow the ganache to cool slightly before using.
Assemble the Trifle:
In a large trifle dish or individual serving glasses, layer the chocolate cake cubes, cheesecake mixture, and chocolate ganache.
Start with a layer of cake cubes, followed by a layer of cheesecake mixture, and then a layer of ganache.
Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, ending with a layer of cheesecake mixture.
Garnish and Chill:
Garnish with whipped cream and chocolate shavings or a dusting of cocoa powder.
Refrigerate the trifle for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
