Sausage Cream Cheese Tater Tot Breakfast Casserole Recipe
Ingredients:
1 lb breakfast sausage
8 oz cream cheese, softened
6 large eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp garlic powder (optional)
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
2 cups frozen tater tots
Chopped chives or green onions (for garnish, optional)
Instructions:
Preheat the Oven:
Set your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Cook the Sausage:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned. Break it up into crumbles as it cooks.
Drain excess fat and stir in the cream cheese until well combined. Remove from heat.
Prepare the Egg Mixture:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and garlic powder (if using).
Assemble the Casserole:
Spread the sausage and cream cheese mixture evenly in the bottom of a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
Pour the egg mixture over the sausage layer.
Sprinkle with shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
Arrange the tater tots in a single layer on top.
Bake:
Bake the casserole in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the tater tots are golden and crispy.
Garnish and Serve:
Let the casserole cool for a few minutes, then garnish with chopped chives or green onions, if desired.
