Ingredients:
12 mozzarella string cheese sticks
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 large eggs
2 tablespoons water
1 1/2 cups seasoned breadcrumbs
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
Salt and pepper, to taste
Oil, for frying (vegetable or canola oil works well)

Instructions:
Prepare the Cheese Sticks:
Cut each mozzarella stick in half for smaller cheese sticks, or leave them whole if you prefer longer sticks.
Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, then freeze for at least 1-2 hours. Freezing helps prevent the cheese from melting too quickly while frying.
Set Up Breading Station:
In one shallow bowl, place the flour.
In a second bowl, whisk together the eggs and water.
In a third bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Bread the Cheese Sticks:
Dredge each cheese stick in flour, shaking off excess.
Dip it into the egg mixture, letting any excess drip off.
Roll it in the seasoned breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere. For extra crunch, you can repeat the egg and breadcrumb steps for a double coating.
Fry the Cheese Sticks:
Heat about 1 inch of oil in a deep skillet over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
Fry the cheese sticks in batches for 1-2 minutes, turning as needed, until golden brown. Be careful not to overcrowd the pan.
Use a slotted spoon to remove the cheese sticks and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

Serve hot with marinara sauce, ranch, or your favorite dipping sauce.
