Easy Cherry Pie Bites
Ingredients:
1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
1 package (14.1 oz) refrigerated pie crusts (2 crusts)
1 large egg (for egg wash)
2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for sprinkling)
Optional: Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for serving
Directions:
Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
Prepare Pie Crusts:
Roll out one of the pie crusts on a lightly floured surface. Use a round cookie cutter (about 2-3 inches in diameter) or a glass to cut out circles of dough. You should get about 12-15 circles.
Repeat with the second pie crust if needed.
Assemble the Bites:
Place a small spoonful of cherry pie filling in the center of half of the dough circles.
Brush the edges of the dough circles with a little water or beaten egg.
Top with the remaining dough circles, pressing the edges to seal. You can use a fork to crimp the edges if desired.
Prepare for Baking:
Brush the tops of the pie bites with the beaten egg.
Sprinkle granulated sugar over the tops for added sweetness and a bit of crunch.
Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the pie bites are golden brown.
Cool and Serve:
Allow the cherry pie bites to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them warm or at room temperature. They’re delicious on their own or served with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
