Bolognese Macaroni
Ingredients:
1 pound macaroni pasta
1 pound ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1/2 cup beef broth
1/4 cup red wine (optional)
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon sugar
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Directions:
Cook the macaroni pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until the onion is soft and translucent.
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, beef broth, and red wine (if using). Add the dried oregano, dried basil, sugar, salt, and pepper. Simmer the sauce for 20-25 minutes, allowing it to thicken and the flavors to meld together.
Add the cooked macaroni to the sauce and stir until well coated.
Serve the Bolognese macaroni hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil if desired.
