Apple Pie Biscuits
Ingredients:
1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated flaky biscuits (8 biscuits)
2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
2-3 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
Directions:
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
Prepare the Apple Filling:
In a medium skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
Add the diced apples, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar.
Cook, stirring occasionally, until the apples are tender and caramelized (about 5-7 minutes).
Stir in the vanilla extract and remove from heat.
Prepare the Biscuits:
Separate the biscuits and cut each biscuit in half horizontally, creating 16 biscuit halves.
Press each biscuit half into a flat circle.
Assemble the Biscuits:
Spoon a heaping tablespoon of the apple filling onto the center of each biscuit round.
Fold the biscuit over the filling, pinching the edges to seal, and then gently form it into a ball.
Place the filled biscuits seam-side down in the prepared baking dish.
Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
Make the Glaze:
While the biscuits are baking, prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
Add more milk if needed to reach your desired consistency.
Finish the Biscuits:
Once the biscuits are out of the oven, drizzle the glaze over the warm biscuits.
Serve warm and enjoy the apple pie goodness in biscuit form!
