Crockpot Chicken and Gravy
Ingredients:
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
2 packets of chicken gravy mix (about 1 oz each)
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
2 cups chicken broth
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon butter
1/2 cup sour cream (optional, for extra creaminess)
Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Directions:
Prepare the Crockpot:
Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot in a single layer.
Make the Gravy:
In a medium bowl, whisk together the chicken broth, gravy packets, cream of chicken soup, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
Cook the Chicken:
Pour the gravy mixture over the chicken in the crockpot.
Add a tablespoon of butter on top for extra richness.
Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 4-5 hours, until the chicken is tender and fully cooked.
Shred the Chicken:
Once the chicken is done, remove it from the crockpot and shred it using two forks.
Return the shredded chicken to the crockpot and stir it into the gravy.
Optional Step:
For a creamier texture, stir in 1/2 cup of sour cream at the end and let it warm up for a few minutes.
Serve:
Serve the chicken and gravy over mashed potatoes, rice, or biscuits. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
