Steak & Shrimp Yaki Udon

Steak & Shrimp Yaki Udon

Ingredients:
8 oz sirloin steak, thinly sliced
8 oz shrimp, peeled and deveined
14 oz udon noodles (fresh or frozen)
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/2 onion, thinly sliced
1 carrot, julienned
1/2 cup cabbage, shredded
2 green onions, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon ginger, minced
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 tablespoon mirin (optional)
1 tablespoon sake (optional)
1 teaspoon sesame oil
Salt and pepper, to taste
Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish

Directions:
Step 1: Prepare the Udon Noodles
If using frozen or fresh udon noodles, cook according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Step 2: Sear the Steak and Shrimp
Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat.
Season the steak slices with salt and pepper, and add them to the hot skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove the steak from the pan and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the shrimp and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and cooked through. Remove from the pan and set aside with the steak.
Step 3: Stir-fry the Vegetables
Add the remaining tablespoon of oil to the skillet. Add the onions, carrots, cabbage, and green onions. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are slightly softened.
Add the minced garlic and ginger, and stir-fry for another minute until fragrant.
Step 4: Combine with Noodles and Sauce
Add the cooked udon noodles to the skillet with the vegetables.
In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, mirin, sake, and sesame oil. Pour the sauce over the noodles and toss everything together to coat evenly.
Add the cooked steak and shrimp back into the skillet and stir-fry for an additional 2 minutes until everything is heated through.
Step 5: Serve
Transfer the Yaki Udon to serving plates.
Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
