Peanut Butter Chocolate Gooey Butter Cake
Ingredients:
For the Crust:
1 box chocolate cake mix (15.25 oz)
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 egg
For the Filling:
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup creamy peanut butter
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Make the Crust:
In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, melted butter, and 1 egg. Stir until a dough forms.
Press this dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
Prepare the Filling:
In another large bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and peanut butter until smooth and creamy.
Add the eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter. Mix until well combined.
Gradually add in the powdered sugar, mixing until the filling is smooth.
Assemble the Cake:
Pour the peanut butter filling over the chocolate crust, spreading it evenly.
Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the top.
Bake:
Bake the cake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes. The edges should be set, but the center will still be slightly gooey.
Cool and Serve:
Let the cake cool completely in the pan. Once cooled, cut it into squares and enjoy the rich, gooey deliciousness!
