30-Minute Chocolate Fudge Cake
Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 large eggs
1 cup hot water
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup sour cream
For the Fudge Frosting:
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions:
Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan (or line with parchment paper).
Prepare the Batter:
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In another bowl, mix together the oil, eggs, hot water, vanilla extract, and sour cream.
Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. The batter will be thin, but that’s okay.
Bake the Cake:
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool the Cake:
Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Prepare the Frosting:
In a medium bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy.
Gradually add the cocoa powder and powdered sugar, alternating with the milk, beating until smooth and fluffy.
Mix in the vanilla extract.
Frost the Cake:
Once the cake is completely cool, spread the fudge frosting evenly over the top and sides of the cake.
Serve:
Slice and serve. Enjoy your rich and fudgy chocolate cake!
