Olive Garden Breadsticks

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups warm water (110°F/45°C)
2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
2 tbsp granulated sugar
4 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
2 tsp salt
2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted (for brushing)
1/2 tsp garlic powder (for brushing)
1/2 tsp salt (for brushing)

Directions:
Activate Yeast: In a bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Stir gently and let sit for about 5 minutes until the mixture becomes foamy.
Prepare Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, softened butter, salt, remaining 1 tablespoon of sugar, and yeast mixture. Knead the dough for about 7-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Cover the dough with a clean towel and let it rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours or until doubled in size.
Shape the Breadsticks: After the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 12-14 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a 7-inch breadstick shape and place them on a greased baking sheet. Cover with a towel and allow the breadsticks to rise for another 30-45 minutes.
Bake the Breadsticks: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the breadsticks for 12-14 minutes or until they are lightly golden.
Add Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, melt 2 tablespoons of butter and mix in garlic powder and salt. Brush the hot breadsticks with the garlic butter mixture right after baking.
