Buttered Steak Bites with Mushrooms

Buttered Steak Bites with Mushrooms

Ingredients:
1 lb sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
8 oz mushrooms, sliced (such as cremini or button)
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (or 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme)
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Directions:
Prepare the Steak:
Season the cubed steak with salt and pepper on all sides.
Sear the Steak:
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat the olive oil. Add the steak bites in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
Cook the Mushrooms:
In the same skillet, add the sliced mushrooms. Cook for about 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms are browned and tender.
Add Garlic and Thyme:
Add the minced garlic and thyme to the mushrooms. Cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
Combine and Finish:
Return the steak bites to the skillet and add the butter. Toss everything together until the butter is melted and the steak and mushrooms are well coated.
Serve:
Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve warm as an appetizer or over rice for a hearty meal.
