Crescent Cheese Danishes
Ingredients:
1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg yolk
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)
Directions:
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Prepare Cream Cheese Filling: In a medium bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, egg yolk, lemon juice, and flour until smooth and creamy.
Roll Out Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
Fill and Shape: Place about 1 tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each triangle. Fold the corners of the triangle over the filling to create a pinwheel shape.
Brush with Egg Wash: Place the danishes on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg.
Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
Serve: Let cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar if desired. Enjoy warm!
