Homemade Cheese Sticks

Ingredients:
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 large egg
1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp Italian seasoning
½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

Directions:
Prepare the Cheese Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheeses. Set aside.
Make the Coating: In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. In another bowl, beat the egg. Place the breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
Shape the Cheese Sticks: Take about 1 tablespoon of the cheese mixture and shape it into a stick. Repeat with the remaining cheese mixture.
Coat the Cheese Sticks: Dip each cheese stick into the flour mixture, then into the beaten egg, and finally into the breadcrumbs. Ensure each stick is well coated. For extra crunch, you can repeat the egg and breadcrumb coating.
Fry the Cheese Sticks: In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the cheese sticks in batches. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Serve: Allow the cheese sticks to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them warm with marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
