Stuffed Mushroom Dip
Ingredients
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons butter
1 small onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
8 oz mushrooms, finely chopped (button, cremini, or your choice)
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
½ teaspoon thyme (optional, or use Italian seasoning)
½ cup grated parmesan cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons chopped parsley (for garnish)
Bread, crackers, or veggies for serving
Instructions
Step 1: Sauté the Mushrooms and Onions
In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook for about 3-4 minutes until softened.
Add the garlic and mushrooms, cooking until the mushrooms release their moisture and become golden brown, about 5-6 minutes.
Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, thyme (or Italian seasoning), salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, then remove from heat and set aside.
Step 2: Prepare the Dip Mixture
In a large bowl, mix together the cream cheese and sour cream until smooth.
Stir in the sautéed mushroom mixture, parmesan cheese, and half of the mozzarella cheese. Mix until well combined.
Step 3: Bake the Dip
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Spread the dip mixture evenly into an oven-safe baking dish.
Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the dip is hot and bubbly, and the cheese on top is golden and melted.
Step 4: Garnish and Serve
Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped parsley.
Serve warm with bread, crackers, or veggies for dipping.
