Hamburger Casserole
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups uncooked pasta (elbow macaroni or penne work well)
1 (15 oz) can diced tomatoes
1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken)
1 cup sour cream
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (plus extra for topping)
1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 tablespoon olive oil
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Pasta
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Step 2: Cook the Ground Beef
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
Add the chopped onion and cook for about 3-4 minutes until softened.
Add the garlic and cook for another 1 minute.
Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain any excess grease.
Step 3: Combine the Casserole Ingredients
Stir in the diced tomatoes, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, paprika, and Italian seasoning. Mix well and let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes.
Add the cooked pasta and shredded cheddar cheese into the skillet, stirring to combine everything.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 4: Bake the Casserole
Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
Top with extra shredded cheddar cheese for a gooey, cheesy topping.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the cheese is melted.
Step 5: Garnish and Serve
Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped parsley.
Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
