Sausage Cream Cheese Crescents

Sausage Cream Cheese Crescents

Ingredients:
1 lb ground breakfast sausage (spicy or mild, your preference)
1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent rolls
½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
½ teaspoon onion powder (optional)
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash, optional)

Instructions:
Step 1: Cook the Sausage
In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned and fully cooked. Break the sausage up into crumbles as it cooks.
Once cooked, drain any excess fat and transfer the sausage to a bowl.
Step 2: Combine with Cream Cheese
While the sausage is still warm, mix in the softened cream cheese. Stir until the mixture is well combined and smooth.
For extra flavor, add garlic powder and onion powder if desired.
Step 3: Prepare the Crescent Rolls
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Unroll the crescent rolls and separate them into individual triangles.
Step 4: Fill and Roll the Crescents
Place about 1-2 tablespoons of the sausage and cream cheese mixture onto the wide end of each crescent roll triangle.
Roll each crescent starting from the wide end towards the point, enclosing the filling as you go. Place the filled crescents on the prepared baking sheet.
For a golden-brown finish, brush the tops of the crescent rolls with the beaten egg wash (optional).
Step 5: Bake
Bake the crescent rolls in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed up.
Step 6: Serve
Remove the crescents from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
Serve warm and enjoy!
