Hot Fudge Chocolate Pudding
Ingredients:
For the Pudding:
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 3/4 cups whole milk
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Hot Fudge Sauce:
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 cups hot water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
Prepare the Pudding:
In a medium saucepan, whisk together the granulated sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch, and salt over medium heat.
Gradually whisk in the milk, making sure there are no lumps. Continue whisking until the mixture is smooth and combined.
Cook the Pudding:
Cook the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens and starts to bubble (about 8-10 minutes).
Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the butter and vanilla extract until melted and smooth.
Prepare the Hot Fudge Sauce:
In another saucepan, combine the brown sugar, cocoa powder, and hot water over medium heat. Stir until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
Assemble:
In serving dishes, pour a generous amount of hot fudge sauce at the bottom.
Spoon the warm chocolate pudding on top of the fudge sauce. The fudge sauce will bubble up around the pudding.
Serve:
Serve immediately, optionally topped with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, or additional fudge sauce. Enjoy the warm, gooey goodness!
