Cheesy Baked Goulash
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes (undrained)
1 1/2 cups water
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1 tsp paprika
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions:
Preheat the oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Cook the ground beef:
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic over medium heat until the beef is browned and the onion is tender. Drain any excess fat.
Prepare the sauce:
Add the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes (with their juice), water, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper to the skillet with the beef. Stir to combine and bring the mixture to a simmer.
Cook the pasta:
Stir the uncooked elbow macaroni into the sauce mixture. Cover and simmer for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is cooked.
Assemble the goulash:
Pour the pasta mixture into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese and mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
Bake the goulash:
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve:
Let the Cheesy Baked Goulash cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy this comforting dish as it is, or pair it with a side salad or garlic bread.
