Cheesy Hot Dog Tater Tot Casserole Recipe
Ingredients:
1 pound hot dogs (sliced into rounds)
1 (32 oz) bag frozen tater tots
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken soup)
1/2 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper (to taste)
1/2 cup chopped green onions (for garnish, optional)
Instructions:
Preheat the oven:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Prepare the cheese sauce:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
Assemble the casserole:
Spread the sliced hot dogs evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
Pour the soup mixture over the hot dogs, spreading it evenly.
Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the soup mixture.
Top with the frozen tater tots, arranging them in a single layer.
Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of cheddar cheese on top of the tater tots.
Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve:
Remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired before serving.
