Salted Caramel Cracker Bites Recipe
Ingredients:
40 buttery round crackers (like Ritz)
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Sea salt, for sprinkling
Instructions:
Prepare the baking sheet:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Arrange the crackers in a single layer on the sheet.
Make the caramel:
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the brown sugar and vanilla extract, stirring until the mixture is smooth and begins to bubble. Let it boil for about 3-4 minutes, stirring continuously.
Pour the caramel over the crackers:
Carefully pour the hot caramel mixture evenly over the arranged crackers. Use a spatula to spread the caramel, ensuring all crackers are coated.
Bake:
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 5 minutes, or until the caramel is bubbly.
Add the chocolate:
Remove the baking sheet from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips over the caramel-covered crackers. Let the chocolate sit for 2-3 minutes to melt, then spread it evenly over the caramel layer.
Sprinkle with sea salt:
Lightly sprinkle sea salt over the melted chocolate.
Cool and break into bites:
Allow the cracker bites to cool at room temperature, then transfer to the refrigerator to set completely (about 30 minutes). Once set, break into bite-sized pieces.
