Toll House Chocolate Chip Pie
Ingredients:
1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust (homemade or store-bought)
2 large eggs
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts (optional, such as pecans or walnuts)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream (for serving)
Directions:
Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). Place your unbaked pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and set it aside.
Prepare the Filling:
In a large bowl, beat the eggs on high speed until they are light and fluffy. Gradually add in the flour, granulated sugar, and brown sugar, mixing until fully combined.
Mix in the Butter:
Stir in the melted butter and vanilla extract, mixing thoroughly.
Add Chocolate Chips and Nuts:
Gently fold in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts (if using). The mixture will resemble cookie dough.
Assemble the Pie:
Pour the mixture into the unbaked pie crust, spreading it out evenly.
Bake:
Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted into the center comes out clean. If the crust browns too quickly, cover the edges with foil to prevent burning.
Cool and Serve:
Allow the pie to cool for at least 30 minutes before serving. Slice and serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
