Stick of Butter Baked Rice
Ingredients:
1 cup long-grain white rice (uncooked)
1 (10.5 oz) can of condensed French onion soup
1 (10.5 oz) can of beef broth
½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cut into pieces
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
Salt and pepper, to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Directions:
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Prepare the Baking Dish:
In a 9×9-inch or similarly sized baking dish, combine the uncooked long-grain white rice, French onion soup, and beef broth. Stir to combine evenly.
Add Butter:
Distribute the butter pieces evenly on top of the rice mixture. This helps the rice absorb the rich buttery flavor as it bakes.
Season:
Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, thyme (if using), salt, and pepper over the top of the mixture. Stir lightly to distribute the seasonings.
Bake:
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes, remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 30 minutes, or until the rice is tender and has absorbed all the liquid. The top should have a light golden-brown color.
Serve:
Once the rice is done, remove it from the oven and let it sit for a few minutes before serving.
Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color and freshness (optional).
